Century-old, craftsman-style bungalow remodel in Carrboro, NC. The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, so preserving its character was a priority. We worked to maintain the original characteristics of the house, while bringing a more contemporary flow pattern to the rooms. We kept and refinished the original floors, removed some of the walls to create more integrated spaces, and added bathrooms to all bedrooms. Other components of the remodel included building out a master bedroom in the former attic space, adding on a family room, extending the kitchen, and adding a deck and outdoor kitchen area.
